Travel to Brazil #5 - Naturist Beach Tambaba
Tambaba beach is located in Conde, a small city in the North-eastern state, Paraíba. Sitting only 30 km from the capital city João Pessoa, Tambaba is mainly known for being a destination for the more free-spirited beach-goers, the naked ones! This is the first Brazilian beach to have allowed the legal practice of nudism. For those who prefer to keep their beachwear on, Tambaba is also a great destination. Although, on a different part of the coast. This beach has been divided into two parts in order to accommodate everyone´s tastes.
A paradise-like destination, Tambaba´s constantly warm and crystal clear water forms natural pools among the rocks all year round; beautiful colourful cliffs and, obviously, coconut palm trees are also part of the scenery here. Tambaba also offers bars, restaurants, lodges, craft shops, beautiful trails and Tambaba-cashew-nut-trees (one of the oldest species in the world).
The popular TambabaFest, a music festival that takes place every October, is a youthful event on the beach filled with dance, music, rhythm and fun: a mix of all the elements that one can only find in Northeast Brazil.
The tourists seeking to go to Tambaba´s nudist section should be aware that there is a range of ethical conduct standards established by the Brazilian Federation of Naturism.
