TRAVELMAN in VIETNAM: A Ridiculously Scenic Boat Ride through the Caves in Trang An (Part 2)

This post is mostly pictures and some video clips of the trip. I took over 200 pictures on the 2-3 hour trip. I had a lot of bad ones that were deleted but I’m left with many that I must choose from to share.

This is the starting point of our trip...

Here’s a shot of Gob from Ireland. We joked that I should simply photo shop my head onto her body since it’s a good pic to have. We also joked that I’d have to tell people back home I’ve gone through a few changes on this trip...

We got back on the boat...

We headed into our first cave, or more specifically, our first grotto. When I hear the word grotto though, all I can think of is the Grotto at the Playboy Mansion. This was a very different kind of grotto. There were no coked up famous actor in it with coked up playmates. ...At least I don’t think.

I’ve decided I’m going to show you this entire sequence of photos because I think they’re so cool, one looks a bit like the Batman symbol...

And in the boat are two police officers “patrolling” the route...

When we returned to the boat after the first temple, the ladies offered to let us sit up front, and then the boys and girls would switch back and forth at every temple stop. When we entered the cave we had to duck in order to not smack our head on a rock. The ladies joked that that’s why they let us take the front, so we could be the battering ram. The lady rowing the boat, I have to say, was extremely skilled at manuevering perfectly through tight spots and keeping our heads unscathed...

This video is us ducking and joking. It’s short. The second video is about a minute forty five seconds and goes until we come out of the cave- I promise, the last minute of it as we come to the cave exit is worth watching...
