Traveling is always made of great experiences, like laying down on a paradisiac beach, enjoy good food, relax with your loved ones, but there are a particular kind of experiences that one can’t simply forget… They are just Amazing!

And we @travelingstories want to share ours with you, so you can enjoy your trips like we do enjoy ours!

And today, after a pause on our experience… We continue our boat trip around Zakynthos Island, in Greece! 😊

No, no, no! Rest assured: that wasn’t our boat… 😊

That is the MV Panagiotis, a boat that ran aground in this paradisiac beach: The Shipwreck Beach! That is also one of the reasons we really wanted to visit Zakynthos Island, in Western Greece...

This boat belonged to smugglers, who unsuccessfully tried to escape the Greek navy in 1980, in the middle of a storm. The boat ran aground, and they were arrested, transforming the inaccessible beach in a mandatory place to visit in Zakynthos.

The first thing we @travelingstories made after leaving the boat was to take a swim in this incredible sea. Even though we took our snorkeling mask with us, it wasn’t needed, since the white pebble releases particles which highly reduced visibility under water. So, don’t bother and save it for later in the day (if you decide to follow our steps and embark on a boat trip like ours, of course 😊).

After that, there was a boat onshore to admire… Or, what’s left of she, after so many years…

If you want, you can do like many other adventurers and actually enter the boat and explore it from the inside. As we didn’t have proper shoes, we didn’t do it, so just be careful!

Also, one thing you will really like is the quietness of this place… Even though you will find it often crowded (specially if you visit it in July or August), there’s something special about this beach… Maybe is the imponent cliffs that surround it…

(Guess if it was made of ice… 😊)

Oh! And we forgot to mention! We finally met those guys from the first post of our series 😊

Oh… Yeah… And we also met… Jack Sparrow 😊

Well, and aswe said before, our time in this beach was limited… We stayed for for a little more than one hour, but our boat was still going all around Zakynthos island, back to Zakynthos Town port, so… Time to get on board again and say good bye to this amazing place! All aboard!
