Amazing Experiences: Boat Trip Around Zakynthos – Part #1

Traveling is always made of great experiences, like laying down on a fantastic beach, enjoying good food, relaxing with your loved ones, but there are a particular kind of experiences that one can’t simply forget… They are just Amazing!

And we @travelingstories want to share ours with you, so you can enjoy your trips like we do enjoy ours!

And today… We will ride on a boat around the beautiful island of Zakynthos, in Greece! All aboard! 😊

Well, when you are on a Greek Island, besides the incredible beaches, you can always expect to be part of some sort of remarkable experiences. There will always be tons of water sports activities available for you to try and things like “Here, take this jeep/motobike/bike and enjoy the hills!”.

As we said before, this was our priority in Zakynthos Island, and what could be better than reaching that Paradise on Earth adding a boat trip around the island to the story? 😊

Well, there are a lot of options you can embrace for you boat trip, but we decided on this one: for 23€ per person, our boat would departure from Zakynthos Town (the island capital) at 9 a.m., head North, stop at the Shipwreck Beach and a few other locations of interest and arrive at Zakynthos Town at around 5 p.m..

Be aware that there are several companies that provide these services and that the prices my vary, although from what we could find out, expect 20-25€ for a day trip and 15-20€ for a half a day trip.

So… Ready for that trip? Let’s go then! 😊

As you can see on the previous photos, the boat was not exactly small... We would say a hundred people could fit there, though there were some free seats still.

If your hotel or Airbnb or whatever is somewhere in Zakynthos Town, you can easily reach the port by foot, but if you’re staying somewhere else around the island (like Laganas, Kalamaki, Argassi, etc.), bus tickets are included in the price you pay for the journey.

Just make sure to inform you at the time of the purchase 😊

The boat has a bar that serves hamburgers, hot dogs, and the typical food a beach bar would serve, along with beverages and ice creams. If you intend to spare some money though, bring your own food, there’s plenty of places to eat as well.

We decided to make our journey on the top deck, so we could admire the view, but beware with the sun. It’s Greece, it’s hot, use sunscreen! 😊

Also, at noon, it’s nearly impossible to be at the top deck, it’s too hot, so a good strategy is to go down and enjoy the sea breeze.

Oh! And if you want to have a great view during your trip, make sure you are on the top deck before everyone else and take a seat at your left, since as the boat will be traveling North, everything will show up at your left!

Well… Not everything actually… This guys were faster and immediately after our departure, they passed us by… 😊

Like we said before, there are several options and you can chose a faster boat that only stops at the Shipwreck Beach, or you can make multiple stops, or you can pick an intermediary solution… It’s up to you to chose and relax: it’s pretty easy to find operators offering these activities, they’re everywhere! 😊

After our departure, and before ending this first part of a series of posts regarding this Amazing Experience, three things became clear…
