Travel with TJ #2 - Riding through greenways in Ireland - 42kms

Hi Steemians, Am on my holidays and this is my day trip biking through the Greenways in Ireland. Its a simple casual trip for many and many probably have not heard about the greenways and I would love for you to be part this journey. Steemit provides us the platform to express so here it goes..

About: As the name suggests Greenway is a stretch of land just for Biking, walking, running, skating, relaxing and doing some research work. You get the picture its free from everyday traffic and pollution. Ireland has an initiative to create several Greenway corridors connecting all its counties, think it will be approximate 2500 kms of traffic-free strip, yay.

The thought:
Monday 7th Aug was a bank holiday in Ireland (no work for working people ;)) and at around 11:00 am we had this sudden urge to get out and do something physical. It didn't take long to decide on Greenways and biking. We started off from Galway at around 12:00 and reached Westport by 1:15pm (trial starts from westport).
p.s - its always better to start early something like 9am to 10am so you are not rushed.

The Journey and map:
The bike ride was from Westport to Newport to Mulranny to Achill a beautiful 42 kms of pathway and testing ride through all its terrain. You get to glide through the most beautiful picturesque mountain ranges, lakes, streams, bridges and townships. This was refreshing in every breath and challenging at the same time.

In Westport, you can rent a bike and all the gear from Clew bay bike hire, it costs 25 Euros per person. You have bus trip back from Achill or Mulranny covered in 25 Euros, its at reasonable price and its worth it.

I would rate the difficulty of this ride as Medium to High it has certain steep hills at a stretch which will drain you out. Am below average bikee and not a professional and I found it tough(but it was worth it).

The Crew:
The fitness couple thanks to them for planning this trip. They had done 120 kms of biking just the previous day and this 42 kms was a stroll in the park. Lovely to have them in my life.
