How else do you get the cajun experience if not through the swamplands. The swamplands are an integral part of the Louisiana culture. All the succulent gator, crawfish and seafood that we indulge in are rooted in the swamps of Louisiana.

So lets dock the boat and take a ride through the marshes. This experience is like none other. There is something rather serene about being on a boat that floats through meandering river bends surrounded by wildlife. You unknowingly become one with your surroundings.

This swamp tour is offered daily through Jean Lafitte Swamp tours costing $29 dollars per person (groupon offers $10 dollars off) and runs about an hour and a half. There is a local tour guide on each boat that helps you navigate the turbid swamps of Louisiana while providing informational anecdotals about the area. You have the option of touring on an airboat that has no top, but is high speed.
