5 Booking Tips for your next vacation

in #travel7 years ago

If it's free I want it. If you're anything like me, you will love getting something for free. No matter what it is, if its free I love it! I have a few tips for you which could help with getting extra amenities, a better view, or a hotel suite either completely free or super super cheap.

1. Research the hotel layout.

If you know the exact hotel you want to stay at, it would be worth researching their hotel layout. Find which room numbers have the best views and when you make your booking, specify which room you would like.

2. Time it right.

Efficient timing is key! It has always been beneficial to travel during the off-peak seasons and the best deals for family resorts are during the school terms. When hotels aren't at full capacity, they will offer special deals to fill the rooms. This is when you can snatch them up for next to nothing.

3. It's party time!

Whether a birthday, wedding, honeymoon or girls weekend, always mention the occasion. It doesn't hurt anyone to mention it plus this will sometimes lead to free upgrades.

4. Fashionably late

Try to check into your hotel room as late as possible. By late afternoon, hotels will usually have a fair idea which rooms wont be filled for the night. If you catch them, you could always take a shot at stealing that room with the perfect view.

5. Jump on that loyalty

Join a hotel loyalty program. I'm signed up to Hotels.com. They have an ongoing loyalty program Buy 10 nights & Get 1 night free as well as regular deals which offer 50% off hotels all around the world to all email subscribers.

If you like surprises, book a secret room for as much as 20% to 50% less than normal prices. Hotwire offers deep discounts if you book before learning the name of the hotel - You're given the area, star rating and amenities and its up to you to decide...

Shall we go on an adventure?
