Statue Series - What's The Story: Tenderness
I love this sculpture. It is made of marble and it's located on a busy main road in Montreal, Canada. I hardly walked around this area but drove, so these two pictures I am sharing below were taken from our moving car, excuse the blurriness 😅
This statue is called Tenderness and the sculptor made it in loving memory of his mother.
In equal loving gesture, where usually one would sculpt a mother holding the child in her arms, where a mother is often pictured loving the child and giving her full attention, this marble statue is showing equal love instead, where the child and the mother is giving kiss one to another.
Although the sculpture is white, it is kept clean I believe. Living in Montreal for 7 year-long, never I witnessed this statue became dirty through any seasons, which is wonderful, with so much dust flying around the busy road, rain, sprayed from wet road and tires, snow, yucky spring water, and moss, nothing like that.
