First Impressions of The Most-Recommended City in Mexico: Guanajuato
No other place in the country has such rave reviews as Guanajuato, Mexico. No matter who we talked to, it was their "favorite city in all of Mexico." So naturally, we had to go see for ourselves.
After a terrifying drive up-and-around, twisting-and-turning, kicking-it-into-low-gear drive up the mountain...we made it to our Airbnb. It's a four-story home with a spectacular view.
We didn't waste much time before trekking down hundreds of stairs and steep walkways to explore the city. No gym membership needed in this gorgeous city.
Although we didn't have much time before dark, we found ourselves a scrumptious dinner and the first cheap drinks we've really discovered in Mexico.
Why is that? Tequila is FROM Mexico? Anyway...
If yesterday's adventures were any indication, we're going to fall in love with Guanajuato, too. See what kind of shenanigans we got into in our "first impressions" video below.
We use this action cam to shoot our videos.

The place reminds me more of Spain. 😄 And Guanajuato is definitely beautiful just basing on your vid and pictures! Glad you were also able to enjoy Margarita Martes like a local.
It reminds me of Madrid in some ways and of Amsterdam in other ways, but in many facets it's quite unique and doesn't really remind me of anything. It really is a beautiful place!
That's great to know, @tangerinetravels! 😄
Wow. Not exactly what I had in mind when I saw this post😅
Is it really that crowded?
Looks beautiful still 😍
There are some crowded parts but most of the city isn't too full of people.
Looks great :)
Welcome to Guanajuato! This is my home state! Check out San Miguel de Allede! I won't be back for a few more weeks, but would love to meet you guys!
Thanks @slim-gringo! We're enjoying it so far!
Guanajuato is an amazing place. Fun Fact: Guanajuato hosts the "Festival Internacional Cervantino" each year. The festival is meant as a display of the arts from the spanish speaking countries. Nevertheless through the years it has expanded to be much more!
Do you happen to know what time of year this festival takes place?
Mid October. You are a little early, lol.
OOps, you cut the enjoyment for me, making it a video. Aren't there pics for folks like me who won't be able to access the video? @tangerinetravels
Hey @oladokun! There are some pics on a @communitycoin post that's written by us.
If you enjoy this video? Haha. I always enjoy your videos. You guys are perfect match. Love it. I am glad you are close to reaching that 250 mark; 241. Just 9 more, so you can set another target.
I can see you have come to fall in love with Margarita. I need to have a taste of that, someday. That is one narrow road in that city. Haha people need to be careful there, but then, they are used to it, so it should be natural for them.
Well done guys, and thanks again. I really appreciate how you have been helping. Thank you both so much. I appreciate this.
We're only two away now! Ahhh so close! We're going to reach that goal much faster than we thought we would.
The roads are so narrow and winding! We were thrilled to get to the place where we're staying, park the car, and not move it again until we leave.
Too narrow. Hahaha. When do you plan on leaving? Yeah, for the safety of the car, I think that's probably the best idea. Two more? Yaaaay!. Before you post the next video, you would have reached it. Congratulations.
Yeah! I agree with you, there is no other place in the country has such a reviews as Guanajuato,Maexico. Amazing place and nice scene.
I upvote you.
Everyone has been recommending this place! We're excited to see more of the city.
