Travel With @susanne - Food, Hipsters, Work and Fun in Stockholm, Sweden
Stockholm has already become my new favorite city! And luckily, I will be returning in just a couple of weeks, for work.
I am blown away! The food here is amazing, the people are super friendly and the weather has been good.
Here a couple of pictures from my first six days in this lovely city.
I love staying at hotels. I love Airbnb too, but sometimes you just want the luxury of getting up in the morning to a long breakfast. The first nights I stayed at Elite Hotel Stockholm Plaza, located at Norrmalm, right next to the office, because of work. And for the rest of my trip, I'm staying at Scandic Malmen, which is located at Södermalm. This area seemed to be a bit quieter and more relaxed. I found tons of cool restaurants here!
From the reception at my current hotel ...
The food here is just great. I find the food to here more modern and bold than the food that I eat in my hometown in Norway. This might just be because it's a bigger city. But I'm loving it! I've had a burger, sushi, chicken stew, Swedish cheeses and amazing steam buns with Oumph!
Tonight I'll eat dinner at YUC! (www.yuc.se) with two friends of mine. I'm excited!
I'll write a post just about the food because this city deserves it.
The reason for my visit was working for a Swedish tech company where I'm employed. I usually work from Norway (or anywhere else), but they wanted me to come over to meet everyone and have a couple of meetings. I was not sad when I heard that they wanted to fly me over here and that I get the chance to come back for a kick off event in September.
While I've been here, I have also worked remotely to help my customers with social media. What a great world we live in. Technology makes it possible to work from anywhere.
A picture from our office. We are located in the same building as Spotify and the awesome coworking space Epicenter!
Swedish people and Norwegians understand each other because our languages are pretty similar. But I find myself switching to English sometimes because it's just easier and some Swedes don't understand my dialect. Ha ha!
From my flight over here.
Have you ever been to Sweden? How did you like it?
Thanks for reading!

Have you been here too, @solarguy?
nope, not yet but i can't wait for you next about food. ^^
cool..
Thanks!
Amazing city. Very good pictures. Would love to travel to Sweden some day. I have the same problem with airbnb, waking up to a huge selection of buffet breakfast is one of the luxuries of staying at a hotel.
Thanks ! It's great, and people here are super friendly. I know, it's great! I love spending a lot of time, eating my breakfast slowly in two rounds! Or even more. Ha ha.
Now , what do I have to say about that hellhole I’m living in ?
Are you staying at a hotel? Or do you mean your own place? :)
Wow very nice. Thank you for sharing :-)
Thanks for reading! Have you been to Scandinavia?

Hi! Yes, a very hipster place! Ha ha! Thanks for reading.
One day I like to visit Stockholm and it looks so beautiful. The food in the brown basket there looks like chinese dim sum. What is it @susanne. Upvoted and followed.
You absolutely should visit here. It was steam buns with vegan filling. Very spicy, but delicious! Thank you! What is your favorite travel destination? (I see you write about traveling too.)
Wow you had great time there!
I sure did! How have your recent adventures been like?
You explore the beautiful place !
