I Spontaneously Moved To Sydney - But I still Don't Have A Permanent Home
My friend asked me to come to Sydney. Two minutes later I booked my flight to move there. This was at 03:45 at night. We were both jet lagged from flying in from Europe. My friend, Josh, told me to go to bed on Facebook Messenger. He was asking how Byron Bay was treating me and I was a bit frustrated as I couldn't find a place to live there. He said "come to Sydney and stay with me" - this guy is so awesome, that I decided then and there to just do it.
Josh and I have so much in common it's kind of ridiculous. I figured that if he liked this place so much, I'm going to love it too. I was right.
Some hours later I was on a plane to Sydney, leaving Byron Bay behind. The place I thought I'd stay in for a year, is now a distant memory. He even picked me up at the airport! My friend lives in Manly, just a short ferry ride from Sydney. It's one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen.
The beaches here are amazing, but there are also dramatic cliffs and amazing views everywhere.
I was instantly fascinated by all the different types of trees and plants here. (A clear sign that I'm getting old.) I love fact that it's such a calm and quiet place, but it's also nice to have Sydney located just on the other side. At night I see the lights over there and it's magical.
On my first night here, he took my out for an amazing taco dinner and Sunday reggae night at a pirate ship bar. So random - so fun!

I'm only staying with my friend temporary, so I still have to look for a house. I've spent many hours doing so today and now I just have to go to bed early to do the same thing over again tomorrow. The jet lag is still very bad.
Every time I start to get sad, scared, frustrated and worried about not having a home yet, I remind myself that I'm not hungry, I'm not cold, I'm not broke, I've got a good friend here to help me out and I'm so lucky to be here in Australia on this adventure.
And as Josh said, I'm going to laugh at this in the future.

Be careful, i heard that even Platypus is poisonous, they have spikes on legs (fins).

Yes, saw it on Discovery channel. They have hidden spikes on their hind legs. I was shocked, it seems that all creatures in Australia have something poisonous :)
That's shocking, I agree. And nature made them so cute so that we will approach them. Unfair.

Manly is lovely, be sure to walk around the headland to the marine reserve at Cabbage Tree Bay, you may even see some turtles. Good luck, Sydney is EXPENSIVE !
Thanks for the advice. I will check it out, because i love turtles. I've noticed that it's more expensive than where I came from.
Funny i would be more worried about whats in the water than whats on the land .
