In a modern world where work and consumerism confind and restrict our lives where most people are aware of the problem but dont do anything with it, simply because we dont know the solution to the problem.
When i started my journey, soon 3 years ago i could not have enticipated what were to come. I was a fulltime consumer stuck in the conflicts and struggles of a modern life in norway. A land of many goods and many perks, but yet many limitations due to regulations and social stigma. Yet to understand the toxicity of the so called "normal life".
I went on a journey that would bring me across continents. Traveling through strange lands, hitchhicking through places where you dont understand the language of its people. Where you trust yourself to be in the hands of complete strangers and see life through the eyes of different cultures, you start to see the problems of nationalism. A dying concept.
You start to understand that you are an earth creature, not from one country only. And though we have our different cultures we have the same basic needs to be happy. To have clean water, food on table, warmth, and so on. But i fear that people of the modern, developed countries have forgotten this. Together with a lot of our heritage in culture that is shaping some of our distinct values. Take the eu for example, which have taken the individualism when it comes to regional food. We adapt things from afar but forget what is close. And when the people come from afar we dont want anything to do with them. A paradox of this era. Like the rich gives almost nothing away. But the poor man would give his all within a blink of an eye!
I believe that to never travel is to live just one page inside an infinately big book. And that we need to travel more. To find our own boundries. To understand the lives of the people on this planet! Cause if more people dont do this we will be bound to repeat the mistakes of the past. Bound not to understand eachother. Bound to not have a need to understand eachother!
And this also comes down to decentralisation. We need to trust eachother enough that we share every bit of research knowlege so we can make a combined effort for change that will take us to the future and beyond.
With all of this said i want to just end with one thing. Wherever you go in this world you are never alone! This is one thing people are afraid of when travelling. Or going to travel. But i tell you that we are all in this boat together!! And wherever you go people will help you where needed. There is always someone who needs what you can offer in exchange for lets say food and shelter. If so just a storry to tell. The world is at your hands, and nothing can stop any of us but our self and our spiderwebs of habits and precautions. One step ahead of the other, i have seen it be done so many times, with minimum to no funds! And i can tell you that evrything is possible as long as you beleave it to be.
So what is your excuse?
