Sometimes everything we need is a little time-out.
The new year has begun at high speed for me - a balancing act between business and private life. It's been quite energy-sapping, and my body red carded me with a heavy bronchitis which lasted more than one month in the end. I read the signs too late.
Now it's time to close the agenda for a while and reload batteries.
Let's go find some snow!

Time to reset, rethink, reposition
Going on vacation always helps me to reorganize myself.
New environments, new experiences and new people will be able to help me to redefine my priorities. If we spend too much time at the very same place, surrounded by the very same people, repeating certain processes over and over again, our thoughts can get a bit rusty :-)
Huge amounts of powder will help me to clear my mind and restart new.
With regards to Steem I've entangled myself in too many discussions lately. I thought we could change certain things here, but I have to learn that it's gonna be rather impossible. It feels like fighting against windmills: a whole waste of time and energy.
Now that my energy reserves are low either way, I've decided to stop taking part in these debates and getting myself out of the crossfire.
If you can't change the situation, change how you feel about it :-)

I've seen some of what you have been trying to do - support quality posts and ask for change in the all the weird, poor quality posts that seem to be trending. Seems like such a backlash for trying to do something good.
I agree with you completely, and support your goal. I wish there was more that could be done. It feels like fighting against something that has no intention of changing. So in the meantime, I'll continue to post and connect with people who want to share good content and show beautiful, genuine and interesting things from their corner of the world.
Have an amazing time on your vacation! Stepping back from the all the work and striving is SO important. Enjoy it.
And I hope you don't give up altogether. You have inspired me because of your courage, and how you've just jumped in and created all this. I'm thankful for the inspiration - it has helped me to have more courage too. I appreciate that so much.

Absolutely the only opinion that matters is one's own. It's the only one that should effect an individual. There's so many varying thoughts, opinions, and frames of mind out there that no one should focus on any of them from an outside source unless it directly effects one's personal path in a manner that is unavoidable. If this isn't the case then why bother? I'm glad you're taking some time for yourself my friend. My wife and I are heading to the beach in about three weeks to do the same without the kids.......... it can't come fast enough......... have fun!
From my point of view, sometimes we have tu jump in even though it doesn't affect ourselves personally. That's at least how I understand the principle of community. I could easily lean back and look away, I've achieved everything and more than I ever dreamt of on this platform. But I'd love see more people having similar opportunities, and that's the reason why I raised my voice. Yet I won't do it ever again, since I don't need any type of drama in my life. I know who I am and that's enough.

Well I am just jealous now. Do you surf most of the time and then go boarding for a break? I went to Andorra last snowboarding and I want to go again now. We shall see ,not as easy to get a holiday these days. Have fun.

I haven't been skiing for four years now, so I really miss the snow. Can't wait to be there and feel it under my feet :-) Well I surf at home and then go on vacation to discover new spots. Since I've got the nice weather at home, I don't mind freezing during my holidays.
