Aralam Wildlife Sanctuary, Kannur
Aralam is a small village in Thalaserry and is the Northern most part of Beautiful Kerala. It is located in the South East of the District of Kannur. This place is surrounded by tall green trees on all sides. The highest peak here is the Katti Betta among all the others which surround this place. The rivers here are sparkling with clean waters and are devoid of any pollution. The sanctuary was founded in the year 1984 and has a collection of beautiful flora and fauna. The striking feature is the variety of butterflies here. They are so pretty with all their bright colors. This sanctuary is a tourist hotspot and is a must visit on your trip.
There are many rare animals found here. The other feature which makes this place even more popular is that the Valapattanam beach and the Payyambalam Beach are just situated nearby. A visit during the months of October to June is the best.
