Transfercar is a fantastic resource for all travellers and residents in New Zealand. If you are flexible with dates you can easily have rental cars or motorhomes for your journeys around this beautiful country.


We used this service to go and visit my brother at his new house and meet his huge fur baby, Koda the Burmese Mountain Dog. We had to put him in as a dog in vlog!


Then we came back to Wellington to be tourists and visit Red Rocks on the blustery south coast. After a short walk along the coast we encountered the resident seal colony who were splendid models for our photography needs.


We also visited the SPCA in Wellington where they have an amazing adoption centre for their pussy cats and dogs. You can go right on in and meet all of the animals, read their personal biographies and chose which lovely little critter you are going to take home. We couldn't adopt with our travel plans so we left a donation. There are so many ways to help without adopting though;

• if you have time = volunteer
• if you have money = donate
• if you have a safe home = you can foster animals for short stints while they recover from procedures or if they don't settle well in the adoption centre
