The Berliner Dom! Berlin, Germany

The Berlin Cathedral (Berliner Dom) is easy to identify while strolling through the center of the city. You can distinguish its impressive dome from almost practically anywhere. During World War II, the bombs of the allies seriously damaged the temple that was rebuilt years later to regain its former splendor. Its architecture is a clear example of neoclassical and baroque styles.

What really surprises about this cathedral is the interior. The dome from the inside looks impressive, occupying a good part of the central part. The whole interior is full of statues, engravings and bas-reliefs, that although they do not leave an empty centimeter in the wall, it does not seem overloaded because of how well the whole fits together and how beautiful it looks.

Once you have explored the entire interior, you can go up and visit the cathedral museum, where they explain how it was rebuilt and have photographs of the different phases it went through, with models and different recreations.
The last stop of the visit are the catacombs. In the crypt are the sarcophagus of the Hohenzollern, the royal family that existed in Germany. There are authentic works of art, and some stand out for how opulent and decorated they are.
