I love and miss Chiangmai, I was there at the sky lantern festival once. It was a beautiful sight of literally what must be easily hundreds of big lanterns taking flight. The endless procession of Thais in traditional costumes was also a highlight that be treasured in my memories. Thanks for sharing your tour and photos :) It was like a walk through memory lane for me :)

You earned my up vote! WOW! Chiangmai looks stunning! I especially love the Yi Peng Sky Lantern Festival. Do you know its history?

Mae Rim is jaw-dropping beautiful! And the Lanna Temple reminds me of Byzantine art because of its use of gold. :) Although it has nothing to do with the Byzantine era!
