At the Top of Mt. Namsan

Finally I entered into Mt. Namsan. I came across the wall. Actually I didn’t expect to meet the wall at first there. Happy moment would be doubled when you meet unexpected thing in unexpected place. The wall of Mt.Namsan made me amazing.

I met the wall in the shadow. The feeling when I saw the wall was somewhat weird. It was cool, so it made me comfortable. But the wall have been standing for several hundred years. It looked not understandable that we Seoul citizens hadn’t interested in the wall for more than 60 years. I have lived in Seoul for 40 years more. But I didn’t Know that there was such a nice wall in Seoul.
The walls had shouted their existence, but we did not try to their voices.

Present Major Park planned to fix the wall and make a road to walk along the wall. He did really good job.

It was not easy to walking along the wall. The road was so steep, so I panted up the stairs to the summit.

Finally I arrived at the top of mountain. I could see a scene of the Seoul. Red one is Hotel Shilla. Building left of Hotel Shilla is Nation Concert Hall for Traditional Art.

View was fine. I enjoyed the scenery for a while and continued to walk to the Namsan Tower.

Namsan Tower is an one of landmark of Seoul.

Interesting thing is there are few in Seoul citizens to visit Namsan Tower.

There were so many tourists at the summit of Mt.Namsan

At the summit of the mountain, there was a beacon mound which had been used in Chosun dynasty. Periodically Seoul city is raising a beacon fire.

Over the summit, there was a cafe. Cafe at the summit looked awesome.

Cafe was surrounded by colorful locks.

Locks mean unchangeable love. Couples swear eternal love and lock the locks on the wall and throw the key far away to prevent somebody from opening the lock.
Scene seen through the locks was beautiful.

Tourists took the photos near the locks

Couples looked happy. I wish there love forever.

Thank you for reading.

You need to visit seoul once more

I was thinking of spending mu winter in Seoul and after some research i have found out that it is so expensive. So i am going through my financial stuff to see if i can afford it. this is why i found your article interested and if i make there finally i will definitely be visiting this place :) Thank you for sharing @slowwalker

I think @slowwalker always produces one of the best contents in culture category. Master, this disciple shall upvote you! Nyahaha :)

I love stone works because they last for so long. Not only can you see the age which is beautiful over time but feel the time of which it has been around.

Love those old stone walls. Thanks for sharing.

What a great place! It is giving an amazing view! Love the colors with locks.

How long did it take to go up there?

Another hidden gem uncovered in Korea. Another place to add on my bucket list. Thank you @slowwalker! :)

a happy surprise is a double joy, @slowwalker.

At the summit of Mt.Namsan you found an ancient wall constructed on a high place and marvelled at its beauty.

I'm glad the mayor restored it and built a walkway for people to visit and recreate themselves.

But then, you found another wall, beautiful in its own way as the first-- a lover's wall comprised of colourful locks whose owners had thrown away the keys. A fitting symbol of eternal love.

It's interesting that the tourists can often tell you things about your city that you don't know.

Oftentimes, we are surrounded with the familiar and we don't venture out to explore hidden nooks and crannies of our own hometown.

High places are always sacred and Mt. Namsan has its own shrine to eternal love --the peoples' shrine.

Beautiful post, my friend

Thank you so much for your cmment as always
