The Taj Mahal is a white marble tomb on the south bank of river Yamuna. It is in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India. The construction of taj mahal started in 1632 by the Mughal Emperor , SHAH JAHAN in memory of his lovely wife MUMTAZ MAHAL a persian princess who died during giving birth to her 14th child and name of that child was GAUHARA BEGUM.

Taj mahal is constructed in area of 17 hevtares and it also have a mosque and a guest house and gardens around three sides. The construction of Taj mahal is completed in 1643 but work of its decoration continue for next 10 years, so it s completed in 1653. The construction project employed 20,000 workers under guidence of an architect of mughal emperor Ustad Ahmad Lahauri.
The Taj mahal listed in UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983 because it is masterpiece of world heritage and taj mahal is also a member of Seven Wonder's of the world.
Secrets of Taj mahal:
1. small hole on ceiling at top of tombstone of Mumtaz mahal.
2. it is believed that hands of all workers are cut after completion.
3. if there is no Yamuna river then Taj mahal is impossible to be constructed.

Why Taj mahal is turning yellow and green ?
Due to pollution and insects color of taj mahal turning green. Chironomus Calligrapus insect is responsible for it because due to Yamuna river explosive breeding of this insects take place.
Yellow color occurs due to iron staining. Iron is presentbin marbel which is oxidize and yellow color appears on it.
