India Border Travel Episode: 1

My house is in Debhata police station of Satkhira district. Though in the border area of India, India has never been so close. Today I will talk about the life story of Ichhamati river and people flowing by Padma Shankhara village in Bhomra union of Satkhira district. Bangladesh on one side and India on the other. But at the end of Padma Shankhara village Ichhamati river has entered the whole of India. And this village has Panitar village of Central India.

I am now standing near the 1st Main Pillar of Bangladesh and India. Behind me is the village of Panitar in India and the children who are playing are the children of India. The river Ichhamati flows inside India on my right side. The boundaries of Panitar village and Shankhra village have been demarcated in a very complex way. The boundary has gone through the backyard of someone's house, through the veranda of someone's house, and again through the middle of someone's kitchen. Someone, two brothers of the same family have become citizens of two countries. It is known to the people of the area that the residents of India used to come and go in Bangladesh to buy and sell but the BGB of Bangladesh did not tell them anything. But when Bangladeshis go inside India, BSF insults them. One of the brothers told us not to go to the other side of the pillar but the BSF would scold us.

People who grew up in one place are citizens of two countries, so their standard of living, customs and behavior are different. India's occupation of the river is also high. Indian fishermen move freely near the border of Bangladesh but Bangladeshis cannot go. There is no other border in Bangladesh like Bhomra Union. In the past, thousands of Indian cows used to come to Bangladesh through the area. And many Bangladeshis involved in bringing these cows went missing and many died at the hands of BSF. Due to Bhomra being a land port, goods were imported from India legally and illegally. Although the BGB has a strong guard. Even after that people do their work in different ways.

Anyway, I learned a lot by traveling the area. I have never been to home before. Nice to visit the area. Knowing the good history of one's country and the people of one's country fills one's heart. You can visit the area if you want.
