weekend travel on budget
Hello Steemers:
Hidalgo is a state of Mexico rich in a variety of climates, natural resources such as forests, gas and oil but above all in the Cultural. For thousands of years Hildalgo was the cradle of the Toltec culture, which built its ceremonial center in what we know today as Tula Hidalgo.
Much of the appeal today of the city of Tula is to visit the ruins of the ceremonial centers, which include the square rectangular, some engraving of snakes and especially the majestic Atlanteans Today, dear friends, I would like to go into more detail about the Atlanteans.
The Atlanteans are sculptures representing the ancient Toltec warriors, and draw a lot of attention for its height of almost 4.6 meters and as a symbol of the importance of war for that culture. Another of the distinctive elements of the Atlanteans of tula is the butterfly that they carry in the chest and that represents the fire god.
It is believed that it was a large army of sculptures, but a fire caused the losses of most of them.
And well not only the Atlanteans are part of the attraction of the place, we can also see along the way different reliefs carved in stone, representing warlike scenes by means of Toltec deities like jaguars, eagles and snakes debaring men (Losers in war )
The next relief is one where a serpent is shown engulfing a man.
The trip itself is a true experience, in every sense, since from the beginning you travel in a small museum located on the outskirts of the ruins, in which a guide gives you with luxury of detail the functions and stories Of each of the pieces that are in this one and And explains its importance to Toltec culture and sometimes tells you some legends related to the Toltecs. This tour has no cost in itself, only at the end you are asked for a tip for the guide, but in truth, it is worth listening to them and learning from them.
Despite the passage of time and having diminished in quantity, the Atlanteans still stand, caring for the sacred city of Tula.
For this trip we spent like $55 american dolars, wich incluide a tip for the guide, gas for our car & dinner at restaurant
Nice detailed descriptions!
Thank you :D
