What does it take to make a weekend without internet one of the best weekends in my life...?
Switching off you 4G signal for just three days and ignoring every wifi is like walking through a mysterious door, not knowing what you will expect there.
Chosing the right location, time and company
This is critical for such a big adventure :)
Location
Well, a pretty village in White Mountains on the pretty island of Crete does not seem to be a bad choice.
Time
In this case, the winter is the time of the year that is interesting, as there are almost no tourists and the locals are way more interested in you than in your money.
And you can spend hours, keeping the fireplace alive.
Try this guys, THIS is better than any 4K-Video.
Company
I have chosen for my girl and her dog, as it is super great, sharing this with ur beloved!
The village
There are a lot of old villages in the mountains of Crete, some of them are zero in tourism, some are just touristic and some others, such as Vamos have an interesting mix to offer, initialised by some freeminded locals, that are willing to keep their traditional village alive.
Let´s have a little walk through the streets
Left or right? Who cares?!
They call this winter here
Fruits and Flowers everywhere
This is what I mean, saying not too touristic
Olive Country
The Evening
After an exhausting day, still not being bothered by the web, one feels hungry.
Coming back to #company, it is great being with a local girl, that can advise on
Some traditional dish
Some glasses later the only thing you will be thinking of is, if
the fireplace is still on
The Way back Home
Having had two great days, even the way back home is something enjoyable.
You might find an old, little mill...
Or, be stopping at some old Venetian Wells...
And have some great food...
On a beautifull lake...
In the midle of the mountains...
Enjoying the view!
The last stop brought us to that gorgeous river!
I hope, you enjoyed that little trip in a non-digital world.
Disconnect from time to time!
It´s worth it
Now it´s late, time to count some
