My holiday at Similian Islands Phuket,Thailand
Hi guys, this is Saikat and today I'm going to share with you guys one of my best holiday trip story,"The time I visited the Similian Islands,Phuket Thailand".
So,I booked my trip from a small travel booth in Bangla Road,Phuket Thailand for 3 days and 2 nights in Similian Island which costed my about 5,500 THB/$162.15 USD . Before you book your trip please make sure to ask all the loop holes and read all the information in the booklet which will be provided by the agent.
First let me tell you about Similian Island
The park consists of 11 Islands, occupying an area of approximately 140 square km with a land area of about 26 square km.However, you are only allowed to visit 9 Islands as the rest of the 3 Island's are closed for public for Turtle conservation.
Access
Access to the Similan Islands is easiest from Tab Lamu Port, just south of Khao Lak in Phang Nga Province. The park headquarters is in Tab Lamu, which is a small fishing village, just 13 km from Bang La On in Khao Lak. Boats depart daily from the middle of October to the middle of May. The trip takes about three hours each way on slower boats or 70 minutes via speedboat.
During the diving season liveaboard boats head to the Similan Islands. These dive boats depart and return from Tab Lamu, Ko Lanta, Phuket, and Ranong and stay for several days at Similan National Marine Park.
The park is closed in the rainy season, from 16 May-15 October, every year.
So, I got on board the boat leaving my shoes in the boarding station as shoes and slippers are not allowed, after about 2.5-3 hours we reached our first island which was absolutely beautiful.
Crystal clear water
We were given 45 minutes to enjoy in this Island by the crew,we saw some beautiful fish, coral reefs the white sand was so soft it almost felt like holding powder.
It was super fun in the first island, then we went to the next island there we saw some beautiful coral reefs and some more fishes which almost felt like it was some sort of painting.
Don't worry if you do not have a camera with a water proof casing, you can hire a camera man from the boat itself who can click picture of you and your partner/family/friends and coral reefs and fishes and give you the pictures on a dvd in the island where you are going you stay. This is Thailand(TIT) as they say, you will find everything here.
We did some snorkelling and and again returned to the boat which took us to the island where we were going to stay.Remember when you are at the island where you will be staying, you do not have to pay for food as the money was already
charged from the travel agent.Just enjoyed that day in the island, clicked some beautiful pictures, ate food and then went to sleep as our trip was scheduled for the next for visiting more island and some more snorkelling.
So,it was the next day and we finished our breakfast and boarded a ferry for the schedule.
We visited the nearby island's and saw some amazing marine life, check the pictures
The pictures were clicked by the guide who was also a photographer.
