Travel in the Transiberian train for less than 350 US$ is possible and here is how we did it

A couple of years ago, we acomplished a dream: going from Moscow to Pekin in the Transiberian / Transmongolian train.

Before doing it, we thought that was going to be a really expensive experience, because there are a lot of agencies selling the trip in more than 1.500 US$.
Furthermore, communication was an issue. We asked ourselves how we were going to buy the tickets if noboy spoke English.
With internet everything is easiest.
The official train company of Russia is RZD and its official website is http://pass.rzd.ru/main-pass/public/en.
It is in English , so it is really simple to use and understand.
You need to sign-up before buying the ticket, as they do not send you an email with the ticket confirmation (at least that's how we traveled). With the user and password, you access the profile and the pending tickets to be used.
In the following chart, we show you the detail of what we pay in each leg of our trip.
You have to keep in mind that if you buy a ticket without stops and international, price can be higher. Instead, we bought tickets from city to city and we made the border crossings in an alternative and cheapest way possible.
Total cost 275 € ≅ 350 US$, not so bad, uh?
As an additional fact, the ticket from St. Petersburg to Moscow cost us about 1907 rubles each (about 39 euros approx).
