iTravelRox #4: My First Discover Scuba Diving Experience in Cebu
Hi Steemit Friends!
Here's another adventure I want to share with you. This time its scuba diving. This happened back in 2015 when a Facebook friend announced that he was offering scuba diving for an affordable price. I grabbed the opportunity as I never tried it before. I knew that scuba diving is an expensive hobby.
What It Feels Like Breathing Underwater?

I've been doing snorkeling and make sure to swim with a life vest as I was really afraid to drown. But breathing underwater? That would be a different experience. I was really excited but nervous at the same time because I had no idea what to expect.
I had no idea how to use the scuba diving gears. For sure, the tank is really heavy. I could not imagine it carrying it. But my friend took care of us, with another guest. He showed us how to use the regulator. It is something you can use to breathe underwater.
Good thing, we started in the shallow area and we slowly went to the deeper area. We practiced on how to get underwater. My first breathe underwater was really awesome. He also taught us some basic signs in order to communicate underwater.
I Felt Like a Mermaid
You can see how I enjoyed swimming underwater with the scuba diving gears. My dive instructor just took photos of me. I was just swimming around. The depth was 4-5 meters, not bad to swim around. I was just trying to get comfortable with the gears.
Feeding the Fishes
Another scuba instructor gave me a signal to come over to him to feed the fishes. I joined him. He was with a diving student doing the PADI Open Water Course. It was fun feeding the fishes underwater.
Learn to Equalize
I always have trouble with my ears. My dive instructor brought me deeper at 9-10 meters. My ears were hurting. I calmed down. Slowly going deep. I was afraid but I made it. For discover scuba diving, 9-10 meters was fine.
Realizations
Scuba diving was an exhilarating experience that I promised myself to do it again. Yes, it was expensive so I told myself to do it again. Breathing underwater was really great and it gave me the freedom to swim on my own. But you have limitations as you need to learn more about scuba diving.
I'll share more of my scuba diving experiences soon. This is just the beginning. :D
I look forward to more of those scuba diving experiences you will share here. I love the photos! I found myself holding my breath. Haha! Great post, @roxannetamayo!

Thank you very much. :)
I've always wanted to try this but never had the opportunity. Do the fishes not bite your fingers? Ouch!
No, they won't.
