Storm Before the Calm?
As the hot days roll on, we know they will eventually be broken by our typical late afternoon thunderstorms. Today was no different.
After a hot day (36 degrees!) the heat of the day was chased by the closing storm, and not just any storm, a South African thunderstorm. Flashes of light followed by thunderous explosions, fading into distant rumbles as it echoes along the clouds as they build, eventually releasing that life giving rain.
4 years of drought, but now it seems to be broken as the dams fill, the giraffe browse again, and all the trees flush a bright green. The smell of rain fills the air, and we all know that tonight will be cooler, wetter, and tomorrow, tracks will be a-plenty, and we will follow them as we search for wild animals in Africa's Savannah.
