This is the third article of this series, continuing with the first article “to see the milky way in the Lake Tekapo in New Zealand. You can travel there in June or July.” In this article I will discuss the accommodation plan in New Zealand. The following accommodation option can save you at least US$500. Let you save more money when you travel in New Zealand and the Lake Tekapo. It will raise the chance of the travel dream. At the same time, this plan is not only high value, but also safer, easier and more comfortable. It is worth for you to look down the article.

Just the simple decision in last article that to rent a car for our travel in New Zealand could easily help you save at least $500 USD in traffic costs. Here we will continue to discuss the high-value accommodation plan with renting a car.

After my research, I make a conclusion directly here first.

The first choice is the Cabin of the campsite of Holliday Park in various locations.
The famous Holliday Park brand are "TOP 10" and "KIWI" in New Zealand.

The second is the cheap room"unit" at Holliday Park.

The third is the private room of the YHA.

The fourth is the hotels with High CP Value.

The fifth is the "3 bed share mixed" or "4 bed share mixed" of the YHA .

The third and fifth options are all about YHA, these two and the fourth option I will discuss in the next post. Today we weill discuss the first and second options.

The Pictured above is an indoor photograph of the Cabins on the brand ”Top 10” official website. I already researched the prices in June to August. As long as you are two or three people, the cabins of the of Holliday Park just costs 60 to 70 NZD, and it is a independent space. It is definitely the first choice.

Its drawback is just using the public toilets and public showers. If you have had some experience of the domestic or foreign accommodation with using public toilets and showers and you can accept it, this is definitely the best choice.

As the photo below, for example, the following cabins just cost 60 to 70 NZD in June to August. It’s a great option for two or three people.

In the low temperatures of the winter, it is most comfortable to return to your own independent space to rest. It is safe and comfortable. There will be no one to bother you. When others who rent the motohome have to turn on the heater in the motohome at night and deal with the sewage and toilet barrels at the daytime, you will be so glad that you read this article. Not to mention that compared with the "power-site" campsite, we only spent 14 NZD more.

In other months this option is also preferred, and the detailed price depends on each month.

You can apply the membership of the TOP 10 Holiday Parks, the price of the accommodation will be cheaper. The membership can save 10% off accommodation at all TOP 10 Holiday Parks. It also can save 30% off accommodation when you stay two or more nights. There are a lot of activities and restaurants have the discount with the membership of Top 10. It is only $49 for 2 years. I think it is a great choice. Just stay at one holiday park for two nights, you can almost earn the money back.

The second option is the cheap room "unit" at Holliday Park.(including private toilet and bathroom) This is for people who want to have private toilet and showers and not want to use public toilets and showers. If you want to get the maximum comfort, you need to pay more for it. This depends on everyone's habits. But this option is still high CP value.

As the photo above, the cheapest room is 107 NZD, and a great option for two to four people.

The third to fifth options I will discuss in the next post.

In a conclusion, in general, renting cars is cheap, safe, simple and comfortable, and it would be better to use the money we saved in the accommodation or the meals. The first accommodation option is the cabins, and the second is the cheap rooms "Unit" of the Holliday Park. The third choice is the private room of the YHA. The fourth choice is the hotels with High CP Value, not to mention that we can find the hotels which just need 90+ NZD. The fifth is the single bed of the YHA.

Let us calculate Carefully, in the winter of New Zealand "from mid-June to mid-September", if we rent a car with heater and use these five accommodation options, it will be basically cheaper a lot than rent a motohome and stay the night at the power-lite campsite. Compared with the standard hotels, using the way we can easily save 70 to 90 NZD per night, for the trip of 10 days to 12 days, we can easily save at least 600 to 800 US dollars.

At the tourist season, between December and March, renting a motohome and stay in power-site camping area will be much more expensive than renting a car and using these accommodations. besides, there are too many people to visit and rent the motohomes. It may not be rented easily.

In the end of the article, I will explain about this series again.

Tourism is one of the dreams that most people pursue in their lifetime. However, people may not be able to finish their dream journey because they do not have time to do the tourism plan or do not have enough money to go there.

Since my specialty is money management, so in this series, I will write down the "recommend breath-taking natural beauty program", including how to use less money, convenient transportation, the accommodation costs that are appropriate and not too expensive, and simple, comfortable and meaningful travel itinerary. 第一是以各地的HollidayPark的露营地的客舱（Cabins）为主要选择。
在纽西兰主要有“TOP 10”跟“KIWI”两个露营地品牌。

第二是以HollidayPark露营地的便宜独立房“unit“为选择。

第三是以YHA的独立房间（private room）为选项。

第四是以CP值高的旅馆为主。

第五是以YHA的单人床(混合三床或混合四床)为选项。

第三跟第五个选项都是关于YHA的部份，及第四个选项我会放在下一篇做讨论，今天我们会讨论第一第二个选项。

第一个选项是露营地的客舱

上图是露营地品牌“Top 10”各种舱房(Cabins)的室内照片，我研究了一下六七八月的价格，只要你们是两到三个人，那露营地的客舱只要60到70纽币的价格，又是独立空间，绝对是第一选择。它唯一的缺点就是是公共厕所跟淋浴设备。如果你们有过一些国内或国外的住宿是搭配使用公共厕所的经验，可以接受的话，这绝对是最好的选择。

如下面这个舱房六七八月都只要60到70元纽币，可以睡到三个人。

在冬天寒冷的温度下，回到自己独立的空间休息是最舒服的，安全又舒服，没人打扰。当租露营车的其他人还要晚上开暖气跟去白天处理污水跟便桶的时候，你会很庆幸你看了这篇文章。更何况跟可充电露营地“power-site”相比，我们只多花了14块纽币。

在其他的月份这个选项也是首选，只是详细价格就看每个月份的情况。

你也可以申请会员，会更便宜。会员在 TOP 10 Holiday Parks 住一晚有九折优惠，住两晚以上七折优惠，而且很多餐厅跟活动 TOP 10会员都有优惠，会员费2年只要49块。我认为是一个好选择，只要在同个 Holiday Park住两天，就把会员费赚回来了。

第二个选项是以各地露营地HolidayPark的便宜独立房（含厕所及卫浴设备）为选择，这是给希望有独立厕所跟淋浴设备，不希望使用公共厕所及淋浴室的人。如果想要得到最大的舒适度，就相对一定需要多付出一些，这个就看每个人的习惯而定。但是这个选项还是CP值非常的高。

如上图，最便宜的房是107元，还可以住到四个人

第三第四跟第五个选项，我们在下一篇讨论。

做个结论，一般而言，租轿车便宜安全简单舒适，把省下来的钱用在住宿或餐费上会更好。住宿第一以露营地客舱(Cabins)为主，第二为独立房(Unit)为主，第三选择为YHA 独立房(Private Room)为主，第四选择为CP值高的旅馆，更何况我们可以找到跟90+的旅馆。第五为YHA 的單人床位(混合三床或混合四床)为主。

仔细盘算一下，在纽西兰的冬天“6月中到9月中”，如果我们租轿车“含暖气的”，住宿用这五种选择，基本上其实会比租露营车加上在供电露营区过夜的总费用低非常多。每晚住宿跟一般旅馆相比可以省下60到90纽币，十到十二天的旅行，轻轻松松省下至少超过500到700美金。

如果12月到3月这种旅游旺季，租露营车＋供电露营区会比租轿车加上住宿用这五种选择的方式贵上许多，并且旅游的人太多，露营车也不一定租的到。

在下一篇，我们会继续讨论，在纽西兰旅游，租轿车搭配的另外三个高CP值住宿方式：YHA的独立房间，單人床位及CP值高的旅馆的部份。
