The Devil’s Town - Nature or Devil’s creation?

Recently, I visited Devil’s Town, located in southern Serbia. This unique natural phenomenon consists of approximately 202 tall eroded stones and 2 springs of extremely acid mineral water.
I hope you’ll enjoy photos I made there ;)

There are many legends and superstitions about the origin of these rare stone formations. According to one of them, these are petrified wedding guests who, on devil’s order, wanted to marry brother and sister. So, be cautious when going to a wedding. You never know ;)

The other legend claims that there was a witch who used to fulfill people’s wishes as long as they were ready to accomplish her evil tasks. Those who refused that or tried to trick her were petrified. I advise you to be careful whom you make a deal with unless you’re ready to be fossilized!

I also took a photo of this strange blood-red Devil’s Water. It contributes to the eerie atmosphere of the place. I found it very pretty in a sort. What do you think?

This is something we could call The Devil's Shit. At least it looks like that :)

They say you can hear some strange sounds here that come from the depth of the earth. But we didn’t hear anything, except silence and noise of little animals.

Here are some more pics from this beautiful location
