Magnificent rural countryside
Much to our chagrin, it was time to start making our way back home to Melbourne. We had a few stops planned along the way, but we also found ourselves taking a few unscheduled detours to view some stunning scenery.
As per our mantra, we endeavour to never travel on the same road twice if at all possible. Thus, our route home took us along some beautiful country roads. On one of these roads, we noticed a sign saying and pointing to a lookout. Of course, we took the opportunity to check it out. The drive up the small single lane roadway was very steep and even my powerful car struggled a bit getting up the slope. >br> The view from the top was breathtaking and the vista reminded me of the English countryside as I remembered it 45 years ago when we were living there for a couple of years. The greenness, the river and the small winding roads added to the wonderful scene.
A little further on we stopped to photograph a scene where you could see how the cliff faces had been excavated during the gold mining years. THe surrounding countryside has recovered, with only the eroded cliffs giving any clue of the past history.

Looks great!
Simple but very scenic
HI @philpotg, these are beautiful scenery, that is offering relaxing hiking in the nature without anyone who disturb.
By the way, I noticed that you started to post few posts on Steemit recently. Just depending on if you are here for short time or wanted to stay longer I can give you advises if you want your blog to be visible:
if you post on Steemit and HIve, then you will receive very little support here
try to post only on Steemit and do not double post, there are many @steemcuratorXX accounts that are supporting posts on daily basis and one of the condition exclusively on Steemit
-When you receive any payout for your posts, do Power UP: you do power up 50% of Steem that you receive and withdraw another 50% if you like then you can use a tag #club5050. If you Power Up all the payout then you can use tag #club100. Again those posts will be supported by SCXX accounts.
you can join our community "world of xpilar"
https://steemit.com/trending/hive-185836
and you can then post from here, we have photogrpahers and you will be seen and supported.
I noticed that "markymark" is downvoting you on HIve, there is no chance that you will receive any support there, I would just leave it and post here on Steemit.
Wish you all the best, your posts have good content and I hope you will be better supported here.
Hello my friend.. I saw your post after a long time. How are you? Did you go mountain climbing and get a good experience? One of my favorite things is to experience the natural beauty of the environment.
