Our first experience in Delhi street food
#12 _Walking in labyrinths of streets, lanes, chawks in Paharganj we spent about 2 hours, still we couldn’t find guest house, we needed. It was afternoon, not so crowded, as in evening or morning. Well, our energy was over, probably it was time to eat something. My friend choose “a nice place” to sit down and recover a little.
The place was very small, enough for “kitchen”, where two guys cooked ordinary street food hits, scrambled egg or toasts, or fries. A few small tables and small stools were on the ground, out of café. A noise of big city, and railway station tired us indeed.
Our budget was so limited; actually it was the only chance for us, to eat street food.
When the first omelets was ready and put on the “table”, looked at the plate, I said, I m not hungry anymore. I didn’t want to get sick on the first day.
Guys brought us 2 cups of milky spicy masala chai in paper cups. It was so sweet and sour; its amazing bitter spicy tastes of cinnamon, cardamom, and ginger treated me, made me warm. I asked for one more. Yummy! and full of calories. I will survive!
The Krishna guest house was found in 10 minutes after this late breakfast…
