Flight above the Y at Provo, Utah - Gifs and 360-4k videosteemCreated with Sketch.

One of the most well known landmarks in Utah: the Y of BYU. A hike that is 1.2 miles long (2.4 going up and down) leads to the 380 ft. high, 180 ft. wide Y that marks the mountain overlooking the Brigham Young University campus. While short for a hike, it is a continuous uphill hike that is fairly steep. At every moment of the trail you are greeted with a beautiful view of Utah Valley. Overseeing Provo city and Utah lake. During the sunset it's absolutely beautiful.

The day I took this footage it was pretty hot. Only after the first turn of the hike (there are 10, 12 or 14 turns depending how long you stay on the trail) I was already sweating like crazy. Then again hiking with 17 lbs. of gear adds a lot to the activity.. At least for me. The farther up I got the more wind there was. The wind was fairly strong at the top, enough to get "High Wind Velocity" warnings from the DJI Go app. Still, Mercy did well flying as she usually does. Although using the Olympus 45mm during the x5s shots was debatable.

I love the motion and depth higher crops can give, but having to fly farther from the subject (especially larger subjects) can be a little scary. I may need to grab an Olympus 17mm or even a Zoom lens at some point for landscapes. But seriously though, I'm happy with the footage. The 360 tour footage came out a little wobbly this time due to the high winds, but not too bad. Also since I created a new mount that puts the gear 360 on the bottom of the gimbal mount, the vibrations in the footage are non existent.

WIth that said I hope you guys enjoy the tour over the Y!

Again I hope you guys like this one! I would appreciate the support if you guys could..

Until next time!
