Photos from a week in Morocco! The Sahara, Marrakesh, and Atlas Mountains
Morocco was a beautiful and fascinating destination. From the 45 countries I've been to, I'd put it near the top for a place that has just the right amount of culture shock-- you're for sure in a very exotic destination but English and French are widely spoken and the day-to-day life are peaceful enough that existing there isn't too stressful (other favorite places that fit this description are Vietnam and Colombia-- feel free to ask me about them!).
If you're going to Morocco, I highly, highly recommend doing a Sahara desert tour! And if you have time, try to do one that is two nights long, as those ones have you sleep in Beduin tents deep into the sand dunes which was so amazing. You'll see the sunset, the stars, and the sunrise like you've never seen before. I personally did round trip from Marrakesh but I would recommend flying into one city, taking the tour, and then request to have it drop you off in another city to maximize the places you can reach (the travel time is very long-- like 10 hours each way).

It's Morocco so it's not luxury but I thought it was really well done and professional, plus I had a good group of people about my age with me 🙂
We rode hours through the desert on camelback!
The Beduin guys, despite living in the desert their whole lives without any modern amenities, were surprisingly relatable and cool. I'm even friends with a couple of them on Instagram now!
On the way to the desert we stopped at Atlas Studios --where pretty much every movie set in the middle east or ancient times was filmed. This is on the set of King Tut!
This door was on the way from my Riad to the main market in Marrakesh.
Snake charmers charm humans too :) This one did anyways by getting ALL the angles when he offered to take a photo (excepted to be tipped for it, by the way).

Thanks for a beautiful story! Did you happen to see any coworking spaces in Marrakesh? How's the internet speed in Morocco? 🇲🇦
Great question! I took the week off of work, and I was glad I did because I did not find good wifi :/ I do know that there's a coworking space in Taghazout though, and if I were to go back to Morocco I'd 100% stay there-- I have friends who did and they only have great reviews.
