This exposition contains incredible values and is one of the most significant in Central Russia.
The museum is really unique.

The city of Murom. Historical and Art Museum. It is located in several manors and galleries of the city.
This exposition - "Murom-grad: shrines and holy cities", is located in the House of merchant Golubev and tells about the culture of the ancient Russian city, iconography and revered saints.

I will not describe in detail all the exhibits of the exhibition, for this there are guides and information on the stands.
However, I will note the icon of Nicholas the Wonder-worker as much as the 13th century. This is one of the earliest works of art of Ancient Rus.

The exhibition presents items for writing - and inkwells.

And a box of sand, which was sprinkled with freshly written ink.

I was surprised when I saw on the icons of unusual girls - Sevill.
It turns out that in ancient times there were 12 prophetesses who predicted the birth of Christ.
