Nishiki Market, Kyoto, Japan #4 - Travel Around The World

in #travel6 years ago

After looking at the traditional side of the Kyoto, I decided to look at what Kyoto people would enjoy everyday.
I went to Nishiki market.

I was worried because of the sudden rain, but Nishiki market was roofed.
It was basically a very long shopping mall.

There were many things to watch from shoes to drinks.

My favorite was the knife store.

I wanted to buy a kitchen knife, but I didn't bring enough cash that day.
Maybe next time.

The market offered plenty of food and drinks.
I bought some Senbei, traditional Japanese cookies, and some Sake.
Actually, Sake price was surprisingly low, so I bought plenty.

Before leaving Kyoto for Osaka, I went to a Udon stand in front of the station.
Even though it was only 300 yen, the Udon tasted great.

I went back to Osaka on Hankyu express.
The round fare for Hankyu express was only 700 yen.
I strongly advise you to use this ticket to tour Kyoto at least for a day.

It was great to see Kyoto, but night time at Osaka still awaits.

This brings back so many memories @naksreview!!!

Did you get to try the soy milk donuts or the quail egg octopus on a stick? Those were our favorites.

Quail egg octopus on a stick was awesome.
A whole new level of street food for me.

Yeah that one caught us by surprise. We were afraid it was going to taste very fishy, but it was actually very sweet.

Reminiscing has us wanting to go back already! Thanks again.
