A Hiking Day

Are you the kind of person who wants to travel but your saving account has not the zeros that you will like too? Well if you are like this, I can understand you but there is always a solution, right? so here is mine. I am currently living in Scotland, Edinburgh which means that I have to work a lot to be able to travel because it is a very expensive but beautiful country. I have many pastimes but the second one I love the most is hiking because it relaxes my mind and helps my body to become stronger. After few weeks, I discovered the most wonderful place here in the City which is crazy because you will never expect a big mountain in the middle of A Urban City.

The week after I prepared myself with water, lunch and training shoes because I didn’t have hiking shoes. I promised myself that by the end of the year I will buy them. I locked my flat and walked for around 20 munites and there I was I in front of the famous Arthur Seat, the grass was green and yellow and by the way, it was a sunny day which does not happen often here. My adventure started by obviously taken the hardest path because I wanted to feel stronger and to be honest, I felt like I was in The Hobbit movie walking next to the flowers and the beautiful grass( that I was even afraid to step on it because I thought I will ruin it). I walked and walked for one hour and finally, I was at the top. The breeze was so strong that I felt skinny because it was moving me, when I turned I saw the most amazing view of the city of Edinburgh and I felt to scream like in the movies but there were too many people, you know they would have thought I was crazy. After taking few pictures, I leave with the promised that I will try to go at least once a month which I am trying to keep. I went home and I discovered an interesting fact which is that the name comes from the King Arthur but after searching more online I actually found that it was first named Archers Seats but after the year they rename the mountain. The mythology of this mountain is that in the past, the young girls in Edinburgh used to bathe their faces from the water coming from the mountains because it will make them beautiful forever which I was so sad because I didn’t do it but at least I know for the next time I go, I will definitely do it.

To end my post for today, I will like to share with you that sometimes in life we don’t need to go abroad to discover beautiful places because we are actually ignoring the beauty of the place that we are. I challenge you to get out of your flat, house or apartment and take a walk because sometimes in life we are just too into work and school that we miss the beauty that the world is giving us every day.
