Travelling to Ahmedabad

in #travel3 hours ago

It's been a busy morning with packing and stuff. Today I will be travelling to Ahmedabad, which is another city of India. It is a 6.5 hours journey by train. This is the place where my mom, sister and her family stays. I have very fond memories of this place, because my granny stayed here and as kids me and my cousins during our vacations would visit her to spend few days of our vacation with her. My mom and sister we all lived in Mumbai city together. But after my dad passed away, they chose to shift to Ahmedabad and settle down there.

Once a year I make it a point to travel here, since almost everyone of my family is based here. I so look forward to coming here and spending time with them. Places where you have spent your childhood are not easy to detach from. Last time I travelled here was on a emergency when my sister's health was not very good and during that time it was all about hospital. This time we will have some good time together with each other and do some family outings also. It's a short 4 days visit and soon I will be back. This time I have very heavy luggage with all the goodies for my family that I have brought from Muscat.

To talk about this city Ahmedabad a little, in the last 2 decades this city has come up like anything. Before that it was like a 2 tier city, but now it ranks on the top lists in the places to live in India. Infrastructure has developed a lot, and with that also the city limits are extended. My granny used to stay in the old city and that had it's own charm. All of that has changed, I cannot even recognize some of the roads as there is so much new construction and development that has happened. In 2001 the city had a major earthquake and there was a lot of devastation that happened and after that the face of the city started changing with new developments.

When Narendra Modi got elected as a chief minister of Gujarat state in 2001, from that time onwards he started the change of the Gujarat state where Ahmedabad city is. Now Mr. Modi is the Prime Minister of India and he has been overall doing a good job for the Country. At one point of time this was a very slow city which has now become a hub for big businesses, IT and textile companies. All of this has happened in the last 25 years so one can imagine the kind of development that has happened here.

Anyways I am so excited to meet everyone there. I will reach by night time and will be late to reach home also as my sister's home is far from the station, so it's going to be hectic.

Thank you for visiting my blog. 👼🏻👼🏻💖💖🌹🌺🌸
