Reliving Memories - Throwback from my Las Vegas Holiday
Memories, always bring back a smile on our face and specially it is about something where you have achieved a milestone in your life. This one goes way long as 16 years back, yes that long. A time when mobile phones had just come in to the market and ya there were no smart phones, it was just the basic one. So every traveler had a Camera and a Video Cam that they would carry on a holiday.
Me and my hubby were at the beginning of our career period in those days. Salary was just enough to take care of home and family expenses, so considering all of that to plan a holiday for us was a very big thing. We would had to plan somewhere 2 to 3 years in advance to start saving for us to have a good holiday. One thing common between us was, we both loved traveling and always wanted to be out somewhere, though at that time our pockets did not allow much. But considering our interest were same it was not a challenge to work it out together. Both of us would be equally dedicated to save to make our holidays happen.
There was one thing, right from my childhood time, I had extreme fascination for some places and Switzerland was top on the list. I did not even know where on map it was but if anyone would ask me what is your favorite destination, I would immediately say Switzerland. When I got married, I had made an agreement with my hubby that we would make our first International holiday to Switzerland and it did happen. In 2 years of our marriage we made the trip to Switzerland and London. We had cousins in London so we did not have to worry much on the stay part, but Swiss we did work out on the cheapest options and made it happen. When I think of those days, I see a lot of struggle in them but at the same time a lot of sweetness also in those days.
After that our next destination selected was US and it was a good 2 months holiday plan. As we intended to cover a lot of places. We visited Washington, Niagara from US side. New York, Florida, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Denver. That was a lot, but so much fun. Again to do such a big one we had to ensure we had enough finance, so the plan was set with all details worked out, looking out for cheap options.
After the holidays I had some 9 film rolls to be developed, some 36 pictures in each film. That was another beauty of those days, when we made Albums of each holiday and I still have all of them saved up as is. We watch them together and laugh at how those days were. And I always feel those days were simple and they had some charm where there was personal touch in almost everything.
So let me share some few pictures only from the Las Vegas trip. Why I find this particular place so different was because I had never seen a life like this ever and never even imagined that in some part of the world such life does exist. There was so much glamour all over the place in one part and on the other side the place also reflected extreme poverty in certain parts, where I would see beggars on the road and I could not believe that in US there were beggars. The grandeur of the Hotels and Casinos was something that put me in a awe. I could not believe that I am seeing something from this world itself.
The famous Bellagio Fountain show
Look at me...In those days we had to use the film roll very judiciously as again getting them in hard copy was another expense. So every picture had us in it.
We would freak out on food
This is what everyone comes here for
I would get mesmerized by the Hotel Architecture. Every one had some theme
Sweet memories of the past
While I was mesmerized by the Hotel Architecture, he was mesmerized by them...;-)
When you are exploring new things in life, it is so exciting. In the last few years my holiday preferences have changed. I now like to travel to more of historic places, but before that we would carried away with glamour and glitter. But then every phase of life has it's own charm, so one must enjoy all that adventure one comes across.
Thank you for visiting my blog. 👼🏻👼🏻💖💖🌹🌺🌸
