The Open Air Museum: Prague (English/Turkish)

I can answer the question 'Which city you visited most impressed you?' as Prague without thinking. I visited Prague in the first week of May in 2008 and 2010. I witnessed the Prague marathon in both of my visits.

With its architectural masterpieces and exquisite sculptures, it offers a unique visual feast to the people who like beautiful forms. I had the opportunity to take a lot of photographs during my visits to Prague.

One of the most striking aspects of the city is the fact that the works from various periods have been mingled with each other. In the same photo frame, it is possible to watch the works of different architectural schools together.

One of the things that make Prague unique for me is that it is the city of Franz Kafka. Going around the Jewish neighborhood where Kafka was born meant a lot to me.

I would like to add another picture of the neighborhood to reflect the atmosphere.

If you are interested in literature like me, I suggest you also to visit the Kafka Museum.

To better appreciate the beauty of architectural works in Prague, we need to pay attention to the details. I can give the example of the building in the picture below. There are dozens of buildings like this in Prague.

Please look at the level of detail in the statues. Almost every muscle has been exhibited separately.

Every city has its favorite places. The most important of all is the old city square, which you can see in the cover picture. The Astronomical Clock Tower in the city square is one of the tourist attractions. I just came by.

Another favorite venue is the Charles Bridge. Built between 1357-1402, it is famous for its numerous statues on the bridge.

Prague is also the city of Milan Kundera. If you are interested in the Prague Spring and communist occupation, which is a subject that is handled by Kundera, you can visit the Museum of Communism in the city.

It's an excellent tradition to decorate the buildings with statues. It is impossible to understand why this tradition has been abandoned.

I want to complete this article with an online photo that reflects the general atmosphere of Prague. I recommend you to visit Prague, the open-air museum, in the spring or autumn. Thus, you will be able to walk a lot on the banks of the river shown below and able to have a better review of the architectural works.

Bir Açık Hava Müzesi: Prag

"Ziyaret ettiğiniz şehirler arasında sizi en çok etkileyen hangisi olmuştu?" biçiminde bir soruya hiç düşünmeden Prag yanıtını verebilirim. Prag'ı 2008 ve 2010 yıllarında Mayıs ayının ilk haftasında ziyaret ettim. Her ikisinde de Prag maratonuna tanıklık ettim.

Prag kendisine has bir bir ruhu, dokusu olan bir şehir. Bünyesinde barındırdığı mimari şaheserler ve nefis heykellerle güzel yapılara meraklı insanlara eşsiz bir görsel şölen sunuyor. Prag ziyaretlerimde bolca fotoğraf çekme imkanı bulmuştum.

Şehrin en çarpıcı yanlarından biri çeşitli dönemlerden eserlerin birbirleriyle içiçe geçmiş bir biçimde bulunması. Aynı fotoğraf karesi içinde farklı mimari ekollere ait eserlerini bir arada görmek mümkün.

Prag'ı benim için özel kılan yanlardan biri Franz Kafka'nın şehri olması. Kafka'nın doğduğu Yahudi mahallesini dolaşmanın benim için ayrı bir anlamı olmuştu.

Benim gibi edebiyata meraklıysanız Kafka Müzesini ziyaret etmeyi ihmal etmemenizi öneririm.

Prag'da mimari eserlerin güzelliğini daha iyi takdir edebilmek için detaylara dikkat etmek gerekiyor.

Her kentin olduğu Prag'ın da favori mekanları var. Bunlardan en önemlisi hiç kuşkusuz kapak resminde gördüğünüz eski kent meydanı. Kent meydanında bulunan astronomik saat kulesi turistlerin uğrak yerlerinden biri. Ben de uğramıştım haliyle.

Diğer bir favori mekan Charles Köprüsü. 1357-1402 yılları arasında inşa edilmiş olan köprü üzerindeki çok sayıda heykelle ünlü.

Prag Franz Kafka'nın olduğu Milan Kundera'nın da şehri. Kundera tarafından çokça işlenen bir konu olan Prag Baharı ve komünist işgali ilginizi çekiyorsa şehirde bulunan komünizm müzesini ziyaret edebilirsiniz.

Binaların heykellerle süslenmesi güzel bir gelenekmiş. Bu geleneğin neden terk edildiğini anlamak mümkün değil.
