Romantic trip to Verona
My girlfriend and I decided for a weekend-trip go to Verona.
Verona is the second largest city in the Veneto region 100 kilometers west of Venice. Our flight was pretty early from Split to Venice 7:30a.m., for about 45 minutes, what means that we didn't lose much in transportation and we had the whole day in front of us. Our accommodation is in the center just a few meters from the Casa di Giulietta. What's good for such short trips. When we settled in and left luggage we went to the sightseeing.
The first is the Casa di Giulietta that is right next to us. As you know it is the house of the most famous lovers of Romeo and Juliet. Juliet Capuleti is the female protagonist in Willian Shakespeare's romantic tragedy Romeo and Juliet. Juliet is the only daughter of the Patriarch of the House of Capulet and falls in love with Romeo, a member of the House of Montague (with whit the Capulets have a blood feud). The story has a long history that precedes Shakespeare himself. When we made a couple of good pictures and caught Julia for her breast (which brings happiness) we went further to the Arena.
The third largest preserved Roman Amphitheater (after the Roman Coliseum and Amphitheater in Capuacapui) from the 1st century. The Arena is beautiful and in very good condition.
The Erbe square is the central point in the city. Not too big but it's full of restaurant and cafe. In the middle there is a fountain and a small market where you can buy everything.
The river Adige is full of bridges, most famous Ponte Scaligero, and many others. Rijeka is pleasant to walk and have a nice dinner. Verona is excellent for city break.
Just beatifull!!!
Thanks @mountaintales

Love Verona, you kind of expect Venice, Rome and Florence to be great but Verona is unexpectedly great. Unfortunately I went with my mother, so not quite as romantic as your trip 😀
