Winter Storm Grayson Hates Travel
Winter Storm Grayson is causing major travel headaches as it makes its way up the East Coast of the United States, as more than 2,800 flights were canceled Thursday morning.
According to FlightAware.com, the majority of the flight cancellations were at airports in New Jersey, Boston and New York, with more than 90 percent of flights at New York's La Guardia Airport being canceled.
Travelers flying with top airlines in the U.S. like American, Delta, Southwest and United are being advised to call the airport before leaving for the facilities due to likely delays and cancellations.
A winter storm warning has been issued in 13 states from South Carolina to Maine, and meteorologists expect hurricane-force winter wind gusts and blinding snow in the Northeast into Thursday afternoon, according to Weather.com.
In addition to the canceled flights, rail company Amtrak reduced service between New York and Boston due to the storm and canceled train service between Washington D.C. and two stops in Virginia.
For travelers who use Greyhound, buses running between Montreal, Boston, New York, Washington and Atlantic City were also canceled.
