RE: Exploring Colorado: Peace in the San Luis Valley, and Crestone

in #travel6 years ago

ah what a beautiful post! it's a pleasure to hear more about your trip and i absolutely love that pic and description of the meditating lizards in the dome. that pic and your description carry a timeless portal that i'm picking up on and it's very good to see- so thanks for that.

i also had to laugh (many times!) at your description of crestone. i did venture up there once from taos (where we lived for a bit) as we were spending a weekend in the sand dunes and that pretentious feeling in the air was really thick! LOL! too thick and i ended up leaving and didn't venture to the wonderful sites and sounds and interactions that you had a chance to see. but things like that so often turn me OFF and i just walk away. i've felt that in mt shasta area too! lol! i'd rather hang with the lizards in the temple, most likely.

it's amazing the rich veins of spiritual energy that we find in various regions. hotbeds for spiritual development. thanks for taking me along with you here through this post XO

Haha I am used to pretentious sensations like that in bigger cities (like think Seattle hahaha) but small Colorado towns, that's a new one for me! I was thinking the whole time that a town full of artists population 150 is bound to have some drama 😂
We adored the rest of our trip and still enjoyed crestone, even though it's one of the weirdest little towns ever. The hot springs and the ashram we enjoyed the most... The people really made it for us. We met so many nice people and had many conversations about off gridding and whether to have kids or not (a group of women tried to convince us that we definitely want children for about 45 minutes straight lol), and just enjoyed our voyeuristic people watching. Haha I didn't mention the awesome Halloween decorations at the yurt or the elderly couple "doing it" in the springs on clothing optional Wednesday (apparently a weekly thing). Just a riot. I say, good for them, I hope I'm still doing it in my 70s! 😂 All in all an awesome trip, glad you enjoyed the post 😁❤️
