Hello Steemians, today I bring you a post about the Dos Ojos Park in Cancun, Mexico. Dos Ojos Park is a park known for having a beautiful landscape in each of its "cenotes" (well or natural freshwater pond supplied by an underground river that is formed in numerous places in the Yucatan Peninsula by the erosion of the soils, and to which the Maya gave sacred use).

     The park has five cenotes: The Pit, Jaguar, Dos Ojos, Nicte Ha and Mayan Mystery, and each one has different activities (most of them water activities) such as: diving, swimming, jumping on a zip line, diving from platforms, snorkeling, swimming with fish, hiking through caves and without a doubt appreciating nature. To continue this post I will proceed to show you individually each one of the cenotes and its activities that this park offers.

The Pit

    The Pit is one of the five cenotes belonging to the Dos Ojos Park. This cenote has some of my favorite activities, diving. This cenote is in a place of difficult access, so to get there first you must take a road by car to reach a path where you must do a walk of 250-300 meters away where cars can not pass.

    After having arrived and put the diving equipment to reach the cavern full of water, you must do a jump of six meters to reach the water. That jump is a very incredible experience since being in full fall with you and the dive equipment makes you feel an incredible adrenaline rush while you are falling.

    After having touched water and start descending, you enter a phase where you can see the rays of the sun passing through the water which is a pretty and unforgettable image. While it goes down you can see the sun's rays illuminating the formations on the rocky caves like the stalagmites. After spending several minutes under the water, when you are ascending it is amazing because you see the rays of the sun entering the cavern and it is as if it were the entrance to paradise.

Jaguar

    The cenote Jaguar is a cenote where you can enjoy the tranquility accompanied by your best friend, nature. Without a doubt a place to relax and have a good time.

    This cenote as well as it having a place to relax also has activities for people who are surprised by the adrenaline rush. In this one you can enjoy throwing yourself from a zip line going over the crystal clear water that makes up the place. You can also do different aquatic activities such as diving (mentioned above), and snorkeling and diving from platforms that are in place.

Dos Ojos

     The Dos Ojos cenote is a system of flooded caves, where flora and fauna are abundant. The road that leads to the entrance of this cave system is accompanied the whole trip by beautiful butterflies. Mentioned above, the fauna and flora make their presence felt in the cenote, taking into account that the Swallows can be seen entering and leaving the cenote since they have chosen the roof of the caves to make their nests regardless of the presence of the people.

 
    From the cenote named Ojo number one, you can take two roads. The first leads to the second body of water that is larger than the first; and the other path leads to the cave of bats. The cenote Dos Ojos has refreshing and wonderful crystalline waters ideal for diving and snorkeling. The cenote has a spectacular play of lights and colors that are created thanks to nature, which when the sun's rays hit the colored corals, form the natural lights of the cenote.

For divers, you can admire their rock formations, fossil challenges, snails, corals, and more embedded in some rocks. To access the second cenote, you must pass through a small space in the cavern underwater. This cenote has the passage of the deepest cave known in Quintana Roo, with 118 meters over 396 feet deep.

Nicte Ha

Cenote Nicte Ha is like a quiet pool of crystal clear water in the middle of the jungle, next to exotic trees, butterflies, and the birds that inhabit the region. Under the water are hundreds of water lilies and many fish which can be seen perfectly, confirming the cleanliness of the water.

This cenote is less crowded than the larger ones but it is a lovely place to swim, have a picnic and enjoy the tranquility, and it is ideal to enjoy with family and friends. This cenote also has diving and snorkeling activities for visitors.

Mayan Mystery

The Mystery Maya cenote is a place full of natural beauty and mysteries. During the tour you can see stalactites and stalagmites that have formed over the years.

In the field of fauna we can find bat colonies and a large number of fish. The Mystery Maya cenote is a perfect place for people who want to enjoy the wonderful rock formations, through an underground river.
