Photos from Newcastle Part 2

The heart of Newcastle is the area named 'Grainger Town', which also contains a majority of the city's historical buildings. It's named after Richard Grainger, the gentleman who designed several of the streets, and includes spots such as the Theatre Royal and Grey Street. The tall piece in the centre is Grey's Monument, erected in 1838, overlooking Grey Street.

It's called NewCASTLE for a reason. Here we have the remains.

I always like to get in some shots of churches and cathedrals. This is St Nicholas's.

Shopping area - not that we did a great deal of shopping, but I do like to pop into a good bookshop or two.

The Jazz Café. A very pleasant evening was spent here, listening to a group. Recommended if you like to while away the evening hours in a relaxing environment with soft music in the background. As far as eating venues go, I personally really enjoyed Lau's Chinese Buffet, located on Eldon Square. Had a wide selection of dishes (including a good choice of desserts) and I thought the price was reasonable.
