• The cellular signal in the area of ​​Caño Cristales and in the municipality of La Macarena is very poor. The only operator that works in some points is Claro (former Comcel). Operators such as Movistar and Tigo do not have coverage in the area.
• Remember to pack:
  • Walking clothes (long pants, long-sleeved shirt and walking boots).

The red color of Caño Cristales is due to aquatic plants in its bedrock and is characteristic of the endemic plants of the species Macarenia clavigera whose family is Podostemaceae, a plant identified by the biologist Jesús Idrobo.
