Visit to the UFO - Bulgaria

Not too far from where we live is this incredible building that's being left to decay on top of the mountains. My friend and I was still able to get into the building at this point, but I heard someone got hurt inside and its been closed off in the meanwhile. So its much harder to get into the building itself now and pretty dangerous if you are not careful. But you can still go and walk around it. We also climbed up the tower in perfect darkness with just our mobile phone light to emerge behind the red star at the top of the tower. The mosaics are amazing inside. Such a loss to see them break away slowly. I wish I had a better camera with me that day.
If nothing else this will put the work of the mosaic artists who worked on them - I think I heard somewhere it took 3-4 years to complete them - on the steemit blockchain to preserve their hard work.

Resteeming this - It's a fascinating building!!!! I read on wiki - It was built on the peak by the Bulgarian communist regime. It commemorated the events of 1891, when a group of socialists led by Dimitar Blagoev assembled secretly in the area to form an organised socialist movement that led to the founding of the Bulgarian Social Democratic Party, a forerunner of the Bulgarian Communist Party.
