A visit to the Serra San Bruno Charterhouse, part 2
I recently made a post about this amazing spiritual place located near my home town and I managed to go back there with my parents to visit the back side of the charterhouse. There are many pathways that lead into the "Bosco di Archifòro" (Archifòro's Wood), immediately after crossing the "Chiesa di Santa Maria". The most famous one leads to the "Stone of the Lord", a large granite rock manolite that looks almost suspended, which we have not found because the indications are not very clear.
In the forest there is the largest white fir in Europe: over 55 meters high with a trunk circumference of 5.5 meters! The forest transmits to the visitor a feeling of serenity and stately respect, but it cannot be well appreciated by those who have no practicality with the area, lacking in fact any form of path signage. The few signals are discontinuous and confused and disappear from one season to another, limiting, in my opinion, the potential of this place.
Anyway, it's always a pleasure for me to go there, I always have the opportunity to discover new and interesting details, even though I know the place since I was a child. Next time I will try to go deeper into the woods to find the two objects mentioned above, promise! 😉
wow great place
