As for parts of the city, the Glockenbach Viertel (Glockenbach Quarters) cool Cafés and restaurants and clubs, if your into art the Lenbachhaus museum, the whole of July the Tollwood festival is on with food and music and all kinds of fun, If the weather is fine you can go to the Flaucher in the evenings and have a grill party, probably munichs biggest barbecue, bring your sausages and make a campfire or join one of the other peoples.
Thanks for the great tips. I love the idea of joining a random campfire at the Flaucher. Fire is one of those things that transcends any potential language barriers. The Tollwood festival also sounds great. I'd enjoy seeing a German festival and having the chance to people watch.
