Exploring an abandoned cruise ship
Exploring an abandoned cruise ship
During one of the last days at the island, some of us set out to explore the island some more. We ended up at the Galaxy Bang Bai Beach!
The Galaxy Bang Bai Beach 8/10
This resort seemed abandoned, with just the smalles hints of people working and potentially staying there. To get in you have to pay 100 baht p.p. The stranded cruise ship is supposed to be a hotel, but it's officially under renovation. As an urban explorer I wanted to get in, but the moment I tried a siren sounded, so I would advise against it, haha! Still there is a lovely beach to be found here and it's worth taking a few hours out to go here and wander around.
Rasta View 7/10
On the way back we stopped for a drink at Rasta View, a great little bar overlooking the bay. Perfect place for a quick stop after a long day of exploring and driving the scooter around! Enjoy the reggae vibes!

Yeah, I think I already have a work around! It seems that on Partiko their markdown parser doesn't always recognize image urls. It's something I will fix in the near future! Thanks for letting me know!
OMG! What a beauty! I feel like I hear the waves hitting the shore and the music of the palm trees' leaves! :)
Yeah, can recommend it if you find yourself around Koh Chang! It's pretty calming!
so the 100 baht is just to get near to the "hotel"?
If they ever get round to finish the renovations, looks like it would be a real cool place to stay
Yeah, there is like a gatehouse you have to pass where they open up for you after you pay!
I secretly hope it becomes abandoned entirely for a bit first, so I can explore inside, haha!
Ahh it is kind of haunting... I have a weak spot for abandoned places, hope it gets renovated even if for different purpose. Pd longing for some beach now.
So do I, I love a good abandoned building, haha!
I just got back to Belgium, soooo feel you!
It's pretty chilly here too, in the North of Spain (you know clichés but it's cold). I love abandoned places but my favourite are those that have been "reclaimed" by Nature. There is something about the eeriness of a life in it that is no more.
I think the ghost tower in Bangkok is probably still my favorite and there are parts slowly beginning to get overtaken by nature! Not sure why the image is turned, heh!
Congratulations @martibis!
You raised your level and are now a Minnow!
