Quickride - Beat the traffic

If you are a working in Bengaluru/Chennai/Delhi or any metro city, you would have definitely spent a lot of time discussing about the time wasted in traffic and spent even more time being stuck in the traffic. It is more likely that you are even reading this post to kill time in traffic on your way home/office ;)

We will brake for a while and think about the options for us to commute between home and work.

Walk/Bicycle

If you’re among the chosen few, then probably you stay close to your office because your office is in a small village near a big city, you are probably single or your spouse had concluded that the traffic is better than you :P (read as cares for you ;) ) and found a house near your office. In such rare cases you can commute to office by walk or cycle. Still you might be honked at or run over by the vehicles who got a special pass to ride on the pedestrian paths.

Motor bikes

Bike is a good option provided that you are an expert in maze solving and can do circus in the one foot gaps between cars and buses to reach the front of the signal or take the shortcuts on the pedestrian paths and honk at the poor walking/cycling people mentioned above. During rains, riding bikes is too difficult considering the fact that there is only a little bit of road in between the potholes in India and water splashes not just from the sky but also from the nearby ditches due to a passing vehicle.

Buses

Buses are cheap and better, except that you don’t get one when you need the most. Also somehow Bus route designers had some personal enmity on you that you have to always change three buses before to reach your home or office. Considering the Indian population, probably the buses are already full and all space that you’ve got is for a foot in the footboard and a hold in the window when you are in formal attire and have only ten minutes to go for your appraisal.

Autorickshaws

Years of our experience says that there is more probability that the auto driver doesn’t like to go to your destination, he doesn’t like you, he’s on the way to another pickup, or somehow they had put an invisibility spell on themselves and totally vanished. Luckily if planets align rightly and you have got one, it is more likely that they don’t want to go by meter, instead they want you to pay their monthly vehicle EMI for a trip.

Taxis (Hola/Wuber - you know what I mean)

In Hola/Wuber, you can leave the honking and shouting role to the driver and sit back and enjoy the movie/song/book, provided that you’re lucky to get a ride after 30 minutes of repeated attempts to book a cab. For this convenience you pay twice or thrice the charges and save some time for yourself. If you choose to save your money by Hola Share/Wuber Pool, I believe that you are enjoying your city tour between your home and office, that it goes around and around the same roads getting stuck in the same signals (No it is not déjà vu or jamais vu :) ).

Own Vehicle

Probably you are too optimistic that you believe that you can drive your car on these roads without hitting or hit by others even if there is only an inch between vehicles. This provides safety, convenience, flexibility and is definitely a great option. In exchange, you decided to spend good amount on fuel, mastered your crash course on curse words and as a byproduct you are also polluting the environment unintentionally.

Many of those who commute alone to office in their own car with three or more seats empty and complain about traffic without knowing that they are also the traffic.

I heard your mind voice saying that It’s easier to make fun of the problems, but what is the solution? Don’t panic! I am not giving the solution but iDisha info labs had come up with a solution and I am just sharing it with you.

Quickride is an Indian Startup which solves all these problems with their Vehicle pooling and Ride sharing platform. I started using this app and had never looked back at other options.
