My memory may be rusty, but i believe that the tsunami from Santorini was before. They survived that shortlived flooding. The retreat was more from a permanent threat and coincides well with the bronze age collapse in 12 century bc
Ok! (bit of Wiki the tsunami was indeed 200 years earlier, did destroy their harbours, infrastructure and not the main cause, final collapse the raids, Mycenian)
